Sanlitun holds together arrival, evenings and departures. The program alternates iconic blocks and a more relaxed final day, so Beijing doesn't feel just a prologue but a full destination.

Aug 12

Final day - Lama Temple, Wudaoying and 798 Art District

Calmer morning between temple and coffee. Afternoon between art, light shopping or rooftop dinner.

Aug 13

Flight south - Flight Beijing -> Phuket

Early morning toward the airport. Clean close of the Beijing chapter and clear tone change toward the sea.

Book in advance

Forbidden City in advance, don't wait until the last moment.

Five days between Kata Noi, speedboat, iconic bays and a slow close in old town.

This part lives on contrasts: slow mornings, open days at sea and long sunsets. Kata Noi sets the right tone, Phi Phi and Phang Nga bring the more scenic side of the destination.

Sunset at Katathani Resort Kata Noi Beach
Aug 13

Arrival - HKT, check-in at The Lunar Patong and first evening at Patong

Transfer, check-in and soft entry into the sea chapter. No heavy program: just beach and rhythm reset.

Aug 14

Morning at the beach and afternoon at Thai massage. Sunset at Promthep and dinner at the night market.

Aug 15

Islands day - Phi Phi Islands, Maya Bay, snorkeling and Monkey Beach

Speedboat from Chalong Pier and strong day at sea. Maya Bay remains the key image of the tropical destination.

Aug 16

Karst day - Phang Nga Bay, kayak and Ko Panyi

Second strong outing, different from Phi Phi for landscape and tone. Vertical karsts, caves and lunch at the floating village.

Aug 17

Last island cut - Kata Noi, Old Phuket Town and final seafood dinner

Morning at Kata Noi, afternoon among Sino-Portuguese facades. Sea-side dinner and bags ready for departure.

Aug 18

Flight north-east - Flight Phuket -> Shanghai

Transfer to HKT and flight to PVG. The sea part closes high, without dragging too far beyond the best.

Book in advance

Phi Phi and Phang Nga require full days and early departures from Chalong.

Shanghai enters later but closes better: Bund, old town, skyline and a concession finally experienced.

The finale has the right timing: one arrival evening, one historic day, one vertical and one more lifestyle. So Shanghai doesn't feel a rushed epilogue but a true final great scene.

Night skyline of Shanghai
Aug 18

Arrival - PVG, hotel at Jing'an and first night walk on the Bund

Check-in and immediate entry into the city mood. First walk on the illuminated Bund.

Aug 19

Old city - Yuyuan Garden, old town, Nanjing Road and blue hour

Historic and commercial day, without compressing the rest too much. Perfect to prepare the skyline chapter for the next day.

Aug 20

Vertical city - Pudong, Shanghai Tower and rooftop cocktail

The world's second tallest building as the axis of the day. Evening rooftop for the strongest visual close of the destination.

Aug 21

Concession day - French Concession, Tianzifang, Xintiandi and boutiques

A lighter day, more elegant and much more walkable. Final dinner and bar-side closure toward Yongkang Road.

Aug 22

High-speed return - Train Shanghai -> Beijing and quiet final dinner

G-class morning early and arrival around lunch time. Soft afternoon, last hutong loop only if it's worth it.

Where to stay

Jing'an keeps Bund, French Concession and station easy without stiffening the finale.

Return and practical reminders collected in one final block.

Return Aug 22-23

August 22 by G-class from Shanghai to Beijing, light final night and August 23 transfer to PKX for return to Milan.

Beijing

Book Forbidden City in advance. For Mutianyu it's best to leave early from Sanlitun.

Phuket

Phi Phi and Phang Nga require full days. Chalong Pier and transfer to HKT should be planned generously.

Shanghai

Staying at Jing'an keeps Bund, French Concession and station easy in the final days.
